TikTok Watch History is a built-in feature that shows a chronological list of videos you have watched while logged into your account. It is private, stores up to 180 days of activity, and is accessible from both the mobile app and desktop browser. (TikTok Help Center)
Quick Answer
Open TikTok, tap Profile (bottom right) → Menu (☰) (top right) → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Watch history.
Your watched videos appear in reverse chronological order.
On desktop, sign in at tiktok.com, click your profile picture, go to Settings, then look for Watch history under Activity center.

How to See Your TikTok History (Quick Start)
If you need to re-find a video you watched earlier, TikTok keeps a running list for you. The feature is built into the app and is not visible to other users. Here is the fastest way to get there.
Mobile (iOS and Android)
- Open the TikTok app.
- Tap Profile in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Settings and privacy.
- Scroll to Content & Display, then tap Activity center.
- Tap Watch history to see videos you have watched in the last 180 days.
If you do not see Watch history, TikTok may be rolling out a menu change. Check Activity center first, then look for Watch history under any “Content” or “Activity” grouping in Settings.
Desktop Browser
- Go to tiktok.com and sign in.
- Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Look for Activity center or Watch history.
The desktop view can be more comfortable for detailed review because of the larger screen, though the mobile app typically offers the most complete history.
Search Filter Method
If you remember a keyword from the video but not the creator, you can use TikTok search:
- Tap the Search icon and enter the keyword.
- Tap Filters.
- Select Watched to narrow results to videos you have already seen.
- Sort by date or relevance to narrow further.
This is especially helpful when you remember a topic but not the exact account name.
How to Find TikTok Watch History on Mobile (iOS & Android)
Most TikTok viewing happens on mobile, so the app is the primary place to check your history. The steps above work on both iPhone and Android as of May 2026. TikTok occasionally moves menu labels during app updates, so if the exact wording differs on your device, look for Activity center inside Settings and privacy.
Tip: If you recently updated TikTok and the menu looks different, try searching “Watch history” in the Settings search bar (available on some versions).
How to Check TikTok Watch History on Desktop
The desktop experience is more limited than mobile, but it is useful when you are already working on a computer. As of May 2026, the desktop site does not always mirror every mobile feature, so if you do not see a full 180-day list on tiktok.com, switch to the mobile app for the complete record.
To access what is available on desktop:
- Sign in at tiktok.com with the same account you use on your phone.
- Click your profile picture (top right).
- Choose Settings from the dropdown.
- Navigate to Activity center or the section labeled Watch history.
If the option is missing, clear your browser cache, make sure you are fully logged in, and check again.
How to Search Your TikTok Viewed Videos
When your Watch history list is long, scrolling can take time. TikTok’s Watched filter turns search into a shortcut:
- Enter a keyword in the TikTok search bar.
- Tap Filters (usually next to the search button).
- Choose Watched.
- Tap Apply.
For example, if you watched a video about small business TikTok tips but cannot remember the creator, search “small business TikTok tips,” apply the Watched filter, and TikTok will show only videos you have already viewed.
Managing and Organizing Your TikTok History
Beyond simply viewing your history, TikTok gives you a few tools to organize and export your data.
Filtering by Date
Your in-app Watch history covers the last 180 days of viewed content. There is no custom date-range picker inside the Watch history screen itself, but the list is ordered newest-first, so recent videos appear at the top.
Downloading Your Data
If you want a record that goes beyond the 180-day in-app window, you can request a full data download:
- Go to Settings and Privacy.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Download your data.
- Choose your preferred file format (usually JSON or TXT) and submit the request.
Important: TikTok states that data requests can take a few days to prepare. Once ready, you download the file from the same screen, and the download link remains active for a short window (TikTok Help Center). The archive may include watch video history, search history, and interaction logs. Learn more about TikTok data privacy.
Bookmarking and Saving Videos
If you find a video in your history that you want to keep, do not rely on the history list alone — it rolls off after 180 days. Instead:
- Tap the bookmark icon on the video to save it to a private collection.
- Tap Add to Favorites to organize by theme.
- Share the video to your device’s notes app if you want an external reference.
Privacy: Who Can See Your TikTok Watch History?
No — other users cannot see your TikTok watch history. Your viewing activity is private by default. TikTok uses the data to personalize your “For You” feed, but it is not published to your profile or shared with other accounts. Learn more about TikTok privacy
What is visible depends on your privacy settings:
| Activity | Visibility |
|---|---|
| Watched videos | Private (only you) |
| Likes | Public or private (your choice) |
| Comments | Public or private (your choice) |
| Saved/favorited videos | Private |
Your public interactions — likes, comments, and duets — follow the privacy settings you choose in Settings and privacy > Privacy.
TikTok retains viewing activity records, including watch time and interaction patterns, for 180 days as part of the in-app Watch history feature. After that window, the data may still exist in a full account export if you requested one earlier.

How to Delete or Clear Your TikTok Watch History
You can remove videos from your history one at a time or clear the entire list.
Remove a Single Video
- Open Watch history via Profile > Menu > Settings and privacy > Activity center > Watch history.
- Find the video you want to remove.
- Tap the menu icon on the video and select the remove or delete option.
Clear Your Full Watch History
- Go to Settings and privacy > Activity center > Watch history.
- Look for a Clear all or Delete all option.
- Confirm the action.
This removes the videos from your Watch history list but does not delete your account or affect your liked videos.
Clear Search History Separately
If you also want to clean up your search records:
- Go to Settings and Privacy.
- Tap Clear cache or look under Activity center for Search history.
- Delete individual searches or clear the full list.
Note: There is no built-in auto-delete option for Watch history (TikTok Help Center). You must clear it manually when needed. For more settings tips, see our guide on settings on TikTok.
Fixing Common TikTok Watch History Problems
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Watch history is completely missing | Menu was moved in a recent app update; or the feature is not enabled | Check Activity center first. If it is not there, update the app and restart. |
| History not syncing between phone and desktop | Different login states or cache issues | Confirm you are signed into the same account on both devices. Clear the app cache in Settings > General > Clear Cache and log out and back in. |
| Specific videos disappeared from history | The video was removed by the creator or by TikTok for policy reasons | Document the video if it matters for your records. Deleted videos no longer appear in history. |
| Watch history stopped updating | Outdated app version or connectivity issue | Update TikTok from your device’s app store, verify a stable internet connection, and check that Watch history is active in Privacy settings. |
| Cannot access history on desktop | Desktop site offers fewer features than mobile | Switch to the mobile app for the full 180-day list. |
If problems persist after these steps, contact TikTok support through the Report a problem option in Settings and privacy.
